With an exhibition at London's Union Pacific gallery, artist Koak ruminates On: Beauty.
“Beauty is more a certain light, something cast across all aspects of our lives — a tint, a hue, a sense of warmth, or a chill. Like light, it’s fleeting, yet it deepens our understanding of what is seen, and furthers our perception of that in the shadows.”
Koak is a San Francisco based artist whose artwork pulls from the lineage of comics, hand-drawn cartoons, and historical nude portraitures. Each composition presents the female form in an array of states and emotions, each heightened through her use of shape, form, and color.
